#BYOM…with Notonthehighstreet.com

Being a huge fan of Notonthehighstreet.comI was over the moon to be invited to an event at No 5 Cavendish Square last night, to celebrate their #ItsAMumThing campaign in the lead up to this coming Mother’s Day. Even better, I was ask to #BYOM (Bring Your Own Mum) to join in the fun…Yay! Aside from spilling a glass of champagne over a lovely media manager from NOTHS (huge apologies again!) and then swiftly knocking over an entire tray of crab filled canapes (Clumsy Kate strikes again!) the event was an elegantly beautiful evening full of amazing treats, delicious food, brilliant entertainment and gorgeous gifts surrounded by some really inspiring women… our mums.

Notonthehighstreet.com’s style is flawless. Their taste in products and design are impeccable and this shone throughout the event last night. We were mesmerised by their unique and stunning decor that adorned the room, including giant illuminated letters promoting the #BYOM campaign, along with stunning gift arrangements that were complimented with heartwarming phrases.

There was even a stunning wooden tree where mums were invited to write a ‘note to your pre-mum self’ which was really thoughtful and so reflective of everything that NOTHS represents. Of course, no event would be complete without a photo booth and we had so much fun trying on an array of gorgeous props. Most of which can be found and purchased on their website.

With the champagne and food flowing, the entertainment began. It started with a fascinating presentation and demonstration of the new Vintage Perfume Experience, which is another unique gift that can only be found at Notonthehighstreet.com. This was followed by a real treat performance from stand up comedienne Shappi Khorsandi who entertained us with her own hilarious accounts as a mother.

Shappi was brilliantly funny!

A cheeky photography with Shappi as we left!

In a speech given by the inspirational CEO and founder of NOTHS, Holly Tucker, gave a personal account of how important her own mum was to her and how she owed everything she had achieved today to the support and encouragement given by her mum. #ItsAMumThing is a beautiful campaign that encompasses everything about being a mum and having a mum, and it encourages you to be thankful and to celebrate our Mums this Mother’s day.

The event itself was a new experience for my Mum and I loved being given the opportunity to share such a lovely evening with her. My mum is caring, thoughtful, generous and protective. She drops everything for her children without hesitation. She is always there for us no matter where we are or whatever time in the morning it might be. She gives us space to be who we are and we’re never pressured to be or do anything more than that. She is unbelievably shy (I reckon I’m adopted) and sensitive. I am so thankful for the relationship we have and that as an adult I can call her my friend. Last night was a perfect reminder that we should be thankful for our Mums, not just on Mother’s day, but all year round. Time is so precious and our lives are busier than ever, so we should cherish the moments we have together.

Notonthehighstreet.com have literally thought of everything for this coming Mother’s Day, so there are no excuses for turning up at your Mum’s next Sunday with a dodgy looking bunch of flowers brought from the petrol garage. Alongside their #ItsAMumThing campaign they have put together a unique and personal range of gifts and ideas including the Perfect Mother’s Day GiftsMother’s Day Cards and there is even a selection for New Mums and Mums to Be. Not forgetting Gifts for Grandmothers (because they deserve a little thank you too!)
