|Ah the good old days…!|
Wow. This four day weekend is going by really quickly. We’ve been super busy seeing our families and pretty much eating and drinking our way through the long weekend. Perfect. Easter for us has changed so much over the years. Similarly with Christmas, we find ourselves in a little lull of traditions. I remember being so excited about Easter when we were young, busting with anticipation at the thought of the Easter bunny bringing us lots of treats, particularly as it was the only time of year that eating chocolate for breakfast and in between meals was acceptable. Yummy.
Dad even found this old photograph of us from one ancient Easter…we could actually hide behind the wall of chocolate eggs we had been given that year! Flash forward twenty-odd years and I find myself rationing my one and only Lindt chocolate bunny throughout the weekend. The ears and head were amazing yesterday and I can’t wait to scoff his butt later today. Oh how times have changed. The excitement of Easter egg hunts, bonnet making and hard boiled egg decorating have long lost their appeal and as Mum is quick to remind me, we need to make a start on a new generation to reignite these festive traditions. Thanks Ma, we’ll get right on that.
So until the pitter patter of tiny feet do grace us with their presence, we’ll have to make do with copious amounts of alcohol, enjoy spontaneous dinners out and indulge in long, lazy lie ins…because we can. So this Easter was a good one and it made my Highlight of the Week. But instead of boring with you with details on how lovely it was, today I thought I would do something a little different and make a video montage of our Easter weekend. It’s completely homemade, a little patchy, but I’m chuffed with myself that I’ve managed to figure out how to put this together in less than a day! Check me out…!
How was everyone’s Easter weekend?
