B&Q…Autumn/Winter Collection Review

When I heard the weather man smugly inform his listeners that we’re in for a heatwave that could last until November, I wasn’t entirely impressed. As much as I love the sun, I love our English autumn even more. I love the change in the air as the trees begin to golden with their beautiful autumnal shades, before shedding and showering the ground below. The fresh crisp mornings that slowly morph into warm and sunny afternoons. By the time September rolls around I’ve had enough of my summer wardrobe and even my feet are even crying out for the comfort of shoes and boots after a harsh summer of pavement pounding in un-supporting flip flops. Pass me a pashmina…

This is by far my favourite time of year. September brings with it new beginnings and fresh starts in my eyes (such as starting this blog). I always loved going back to school, or starting new courses, learning new skills and meeting new people. It’s also the start of a celebratory season for me, with my birthday in October, followed by Halloween (even though I’m a wimp!), Firework night and of course…Christmas (which is only 107 days away in case you were wondering). I just love it. So when I was asked to take a sneak peak at B&Q’s new Autumn/Winter Collection I was super excited to see what styles would be in this season as we prepare to settle down at home for the coming season. Providing this heatwave decides to change it’s course…

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…!

Browsing through the new collection I couldn’t help but get a little excited for the festive season. The Into The Country range is totally up my street with its use of natural colours and warm textures, oozing cosy evenings by the fire, snuggled up with loved ones on a cold winter evening. The beautiful range combines thick fabrics and soft furs with leather and checked designs. Colour wise, it’s a very neutral palette, which I love, with accents of red berry thrown in to soften the tone.

My favourite piece from the collection has to be the Castles Jacquard Cushion. With its grey and cream textured print, piped edges and generous in size, this cushion is a gorgeous addition to my home decor collection. Its neutral tones mean that I can style the cushion in both my living room or bedroom and with its unique English Castle text, it is versatile enough to be kept out all year round. Bonus. No storage cupboard for you dear cushion.

That’s the beauty of this collection. A lot of it’s pieces aren’t screaming festive joys and all be merry and bright…some of it’s items will make lovely compliments to your home decor whatever the season. I also really love this glass lanternthis plaque and this floor lamp, all of which would make perfect permanent additions to my home. So whilst the weather is still making up it’s mind whether or not to change season, I’ll happily start getting my home Autumn/Winter ready, whatever the weather.

What are your favourite pieces from this collection? Let me know in the comments below…!

Until next time,

With Love & Cosy Collection,
