We were having one of those weeks.
The kind of week where it feels as if the world and her husband are completely against you. Every single day there was something. One car broke down. Then the other one decided to pack up. Two poorly babies, a parking fine and a partridge probably about to snuff it and fall out of the pear tree. It was that kind of week.
Then the ultimate betrayal occurred. My washing machine broke.
I cried. Of course, I cried. I am a sleep deprived emotionally drained Mumma with two small snot covered babies, I always cry. The very last thing I needed that week was for the washing machine to quit on me.
So I had a cup of tea, phoned my Mum who calmed me down and said I could send my mammoth pile of baby snot and poo stained washing over to her and I pulled myself together. It was too early to write to Father Christmas, so I went to the next best thing- ao.com who swiftly came to this knackered Mumma’s rescue and in more ways than one.
Not only would they send me a rather swanky looking Candy Bianca, (no she’s not a stripper, she’s a Wifi Connected 9Kg Washing Machine), but they would send
her it on any day at my convenience and take away my old machine too.
I owe a lot to the peeps at ao.com for saving this Mumma’s life and for well and truly turning around one rotten week for the better. You guys rock.
Bye bye, crappy old washing machine! Mumma now has a new best friend and her name is Bianca. Oh, and before you ask, the tumble dryer machine that compliments her isn’t called Ricky, I checked.
The Candy Bianca Wifi Connected Washing Machine
The Bianca washing machine from Candy is the smarter way to wash your clothes. With its 9kg drum, Zoom washing option, smart app and touchscreen control panel, its design is completely geared towards making washing your clothes simpler and easier.
At first glance, I thought Bianca looked a bit like a spaceship. The door to the machine is very large and dark so it was initially a bit masculine in design and appearance. But as long as it was easy enough to use, I knew Bianca, even with her butch appearance, and I would get along just fine.
The control panel is touchscreen and super sleek. You simply whizz the dial around to select your desired programme and then press play. The screen illuminates the chosen programme and running time which displays throughout the wash counting down to its completion.
Aside from the 9kg drum, which is just a perfect size for our family, I love the Zoom option. This allows you to shorten any option with a simple touch of the Zoom icon and it will clean your clothes in just 59 minutes. This means I’m not waiting in or staying up to wait for a wash to finish. We simply zoom a programme and before we know it, Bianca is sending us a message to say she’s finished. There’s no compromise on the cleanliness of the Zoom option either and I now use this with every wash.
Annoyingly we could hear our old washing machine going for it wherever you were in the house as there isn’t a door on the utility room yet. But Bianca is super quiet. You don’t even know when she’s completed a cycle, which is where the app comes in handy.
Designed to make washing easier, the Simply-Fi app, once connected to your phone, allows you to voice control the washing machine remotely. You can choose programmes and adjust settings, which is all very clever. Perhaps a little too clever for me. I don’t find that I need to use the app as I’m always home, whereas I imagine that this is something that would be appreciated by people who work out from home and can control their washing remotely on the commute to and from work perhaps.
Bianca To The Rescue
Mumma likes it. She likes it a lot.
OK so perhaps I’d prefer it if it were a bit more feminine in design. I’m also probably never going to make full use of the Simply-Fi app benefits, I’m just not that whizzy. But I do really like it.
It’s energy efficient, quick, simple to operate and more importantly it cleans our clothes just perfectly.
Its drum is big enough for the ridiculous amount of washing our family produce that I can arrange our washing into colour groups and wash without having to separate piles. An important factor for a washing obsessed Mumma of Two. I like to co-ordinate my washing and manage it throughout a week to keep us all up to date. I need to get a life, I know.
I’m absolutely thrilled with Bianca. She’s come to rescue and we are getting along just brilliantly. I hope she sticks around for many more years to come.
The Biggest EVER THANK YOU to AO.com for literally saving this Mumma’s life. Oh, and thank you to Nanna too for doing our washing until Bianca moved in!
