About Me

My life in a nutshell so far…I always wanted to be an actress, which never happened, because I never really tried. I was then rejected by the circus. Slight error on my part, but still a kick in the teeth. I started a wedding planning business and planned a zillion events and weddings. I then trained to be a secondary school drama teacher, which was short lived as I then decided to change career again, (you’ll see a pattern forming) This job, for the most part involved dealing with small humans who had an answer for everything but who never failed to make me laugh, working as a Nanny.

The first highlight of my life came when I fell head over heels in love with  (a very) tall,  blonde, handsome stranger outside Specsavers on Easter Sunday at 3am back in 2005. We eventually moved in together, (much to the relief of my parents who honestly thought that they had a real-life Bridget Jones on their hands at one point). In 2012, he surprised me with a long awaited proposal. Flash forward ten months of planning stress, (the wedding planner in me unleashed a whole other kind of Bridezilla!) and I married the man of my dreams, who is now referred to as The Hubster.

With our perfect wedding becoming a beautiful, but a distant memory, we, of course, decided to embark on the next challenge…starting a family. Things were taking longer than we’d hoped and to stop myself turning into a crazed ovulation obsessed mad woman, I needed a distraction. Not being one for knitting or rock climbing, I decided to start The Enchanting Blog (previously named Miss Enchanting until rebranded in January 2016).

After a while, we decided to share our Fertility Journey on the blog. As nerve wrecking as this was, it has made the whole process a zillion times easier. It has opened up a safe space for others to share their stories, fears, and experiences with fertility.

It took a lot of patience but we were finally granted our wish. Our Little Bean arrived in August 2015.  Elsie Belle, she’s the wisest, smartest, funniest little girl. Her smiles are rare yet precious. She’s not a people pleaser and has been a Diva since the day she arrived. She makes us laugh, keeps us on the edge of our seats and makes us super proud every single day.

Then just like buses, but buses filled with magic beans. Our sweet little Billie Rose made a shock surprise arrival in May 2017. She slotted into our lives so effortlessly. Lighting up rooms with her beautiful smile and her twinkling blue eyes. She is simply magic.

Becoming parents to our little girls is by far our greatest achievement and our most unpredictable adventure and we couldn’t be more in love with them both.

The blog has naturally become a UK Parenting & Lifestyle Blog.

My most popular posts usually stem from everyday real life, where I simply need to get something off my chest and have a good old rant. Usually all about this crazy world of parenting and my little Divas in particular. They perhaps should have signed some sort of internet restraining order. Maybe they will one day, who knows! More fool them for making such interesting species that one can’t help but share the details, the love and most importantly the laughter.
